AFTERCARE FOR EXTERNAL PIERCINGS
It is important you clean your new piercing three to four times a day for the first few weeks. Then one or two times a day until it is completely healed, You may need to clean it more often if you engage in physical activities or are exposed to other substances that can interfere with the cleanliness of your piercing. A new piercing can take anywhere from one month to a year to completely heal. Your piercer will give you a better idea of what to expect.
DO'S
- wash your hands before touching your piercing
- wash the area around your piercing, including the jewelry with antibacterial soap
- gently soak off crusties on the jewelry with water and sea salt solution
- soap up the jewelry in clear water and work it back and forth to remove soap residue
from the inside of the piercing
DON'TS
- do not remove jewelry to clean
- do not clean piercing with alcohol or peroxide
- do not pick around the new piercing
- do not use neosporin
- do not use iodized salt or epson salt as a replacement for sea salt

AFTERCARE FOR ORAL PIERCINGS
- non alcoholic mouthwash is highly recommended
- brushing tongue will keep down levels of bacteria
- rinse mouth after eating, drinking or smoking and especially in the morning
- sea salt rinses are recommended to speed up healing process
- make sure ball stays secure
- stick to softer foods while you adjust to the piercing, you don't want to bite it!
- avoid drinking alcohol
It's always good to keep you body healthy after getting a new piercing (healthy foods, water, sleep,vitamins). Ibuprofen, Tylenol, Motrin etc. can be taken to reduce swelling and pain. Your piercing is performed in the utmost sanitary conditions,it is your responsibility to maintain those conditions.
